Privacy & Anonymity
Is it really anonymous?
Yes, completely. We don't collect or store any personal information with free messages. No accounts required, no IP tracking associated with message content, no identity verification. Your message stands alone with no connection to you. Premium users have accounts for message management, but your messages remain completely anonymous to readers.
Can anyone find out who wrote a message?
No. There is no way to identify who wrote any message on ReadAndGone. We don't store identifying information with messages, and there are no usernames, profiles, or any identifying markers attached to what you write. Your anonymity is the foundation of our platform.
Is my reading activity tracked?
No. When you read a message, your activity is not tracked or recorded. Reading is just as anonymous as writing. We don't know who reads what, and there's no way for anyone else to know either.

How long do messages last?
Free messages disappear immediately and permanently after being read once - they cannot be recovered. This is by design, creating truly ephemeral communication. Premium messages stay in rotation indefinitely and can be read by multiple people, giving your words a longer life and wider reach.
Where do the messages come from?
Every message you see was written by a real person, anonymously, from somewhere in the world. They could be sharing secrets, confessions, thoughts, advice, or anything they need to express without revealing their identity. Some messages are from today, others have been in rotation for longer.
What happens after I read a message?
For free messages, reading it triggers permanent deletion - that message is gone forever, and you were the only person who ever saw it. Premium messages stay in the rotation after being read, so multiple people can discover them over time.
How do I share a message?
Simply visit our homepage, type your message in the text box, and click "Leave a Message". Your secret will be instantly added to the pool for others to discover. No sign-up, no email, no personal information needed.
What kind of messages can I share?
Anything that's on your mind - secrets, confessions, thoughts, advice, encouragement, jokes, observations about life, or things you've never told anyone. We ask that you keep messages respectful and legal. This is a space for authentic human expression, not harassment or harmful content.
Can I read my own messages after sending them?
Free messages are truly anonymous and ephemeral - once sent, there's no way to track or retrieve them, even for you. This is by design. Premium members can view and manage all their messages through their account dashboard, giving you full control until you choose to delete them.
Can I reply to messages I read?

Can I save or share a message I read?
There's no built-in way to save messages, and that's part of the experience - these are fleeting moments of human connection. For free messages, once you navigate away, that message is gone forever. If a message really resonates with you, you can copy the text, but we ask that you respect the anonymous nature of the platform if you share it elsewhere.

What is Premium membership?
Premium membership gives your messages permanence. Instead of disappearing after one read, your messages stay in rotation and can be discovered by multiple people over time. Can I cancel my Premium subscription?
Yes, you can cancel your Premium subscription at any time from your account dashboard. Your premium features will remain active until the end of your current billing period.
What happens to my messages if I cancel Premium?
If you cancel your Premium subscription, your existing messages will remain in rotation until the end of your billing period. After that, they will be removed from circulation but you'll have a grace period to renew if you change your mind.

Are messages moderated?
We expect users to be respectful and keep messages appropriate. While we can't review every message before it's posted, we take reports seriously and remove content that violates our guidelines. If you encounter concerning content, please contact us to report it.
What content is not allowed?
